Digital marketing résumé: lead with the numbers you moved
Marketing is measured, so marketing résumés are judged on numbers. Recruiters want to see budgets, channels and results, not a list of platforms.

What recruiters look for
- Channels you’ve run: SEO, Google Ads, Meta, email, affiliates, influencer, content.
- Budget managed and the results: leads, cost per lead, ROAS, CAC, conversion rate.
- Organic growth: traffic, rankings, followers, engagement, with time frames.
- Tools: GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, SEMrush or Ahrefs, HubSpot, CRM.

For freshers
Run something real: a blog, a small business’s Instagram, a ₹2,000 test campaign. Report the results like a job. Add Google Ads, Analytics or HubSpot certifications, which are free and often filter criteria.
Common mistakes
- Listing every platform you’ve logged into.
- Vanity metrics (impressions, likes) with no link to leads or sales.
- No time frames: “grew followers to 10K” in a month and in five years are very different.

Questions
What should a fresher digital marketer put on a resume?
Certifications (Google Ads, GA4, HubSpot), any real campaign or page you grew with numbers, and internships. A small personal project with results beats a long list of courses.
Should I include a portfolio link?
Yes: a one-page portfolio or deck with campaign screenshots and results makes your numbers believable.
Which metrics matter most?
Those tied to revenue: leads, cost per lead, conversion rate, ROAS and CAC. Reach and engagement support them but don’t replace them.
